Legislators in Missouri and Wisconsin continue to throw shade on the validity of the 2020 election, proposing bills perpetuating the myth that widespread fraud cost Donald Trump the election.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Missouri state senator and secretary of state candidate Denny Hoskins proposes in SB 917 to hand count all of the state’s 2.97 million paper ballots.  In interviews, Hoskins downplayed the cost and number of election workers needed.  But as we’ve reported, Shasta County, CA estimated needing 1,200 election workers, working a combined 87,000 hours, and costing $1.6 Million dollars, to hand count the ballots of 111,000 county voters.  Hand counting is less accurate and far more expensive than electronic ballot tabulation.

Wisconsin Public Radio reports that after the legislative attempts to remove Election Commission Director Meagan Wolfe were blocked, legislators now want to disband the Wisconsin Election Commission by June of next year, just months before the 2024 Presidential election.  Wolfe has been excoriated by election-denying legislators for implementing pandemic voting accommodations.  Joe Biden won Wisconsin by less than one percent, but there is no evidence of widespread fraud.
