New Hampshire Legislators Make Yet Another Attempt at Keeping Students from Voting, Further Tightening Voter ID Regulations

New Hampshire legislators are making another attempt to end the use of student IDs as voter identification, claiming such IDs were prone to fraud and advancing a bill to further narrow acceptable options. Such fraud is almost non-existent, and pro-voter groups say it’s partisan voter suppression.

Since 2005, the State of Indiana allowed voting-eligible students to use their student IDs to vote.  April 16th, Governor Mike Braun signed SB 10, which included banning use of student photo IDs for voting without evidence of misuse.  That law is headed to court.

Election-Day Voter Registration Does Help People Vote, But it’s Better to Register Early to Make Sure Your Vote Counts

In 21 states plus DC, election-day voter registration has a proven record of enabling younger, nonwhite, and frequently moving citizens to vote - which is why anti-voter legislatures are scrambling to end or neutralize it.  Use it if you must, but registering early is a better way to make sure your vote counts.
