Eleven of 18 Arizona 2020 fake electors and Trump election lawyers were arraigned May 21st on nine felony counts after being indicted by a grand jury on April 26th.  Former President Trump was named an unindicted co-conspirator.

The 11 arraigned May 21st were a Republican Arizona state senator, eight GOP activists, including a Republican National committeeman, and two of Donald Trump’s allies, including Rudy Guiliani and Republican National Committee “election integrity” lawyer, Christina Bobb.  Another alleged central figure, John Eastman, was arraigned earlier.  Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and four others will be arraigned in June.

All 18 defendants are charged with fraudulent schemes to deceive, and practice of that deception, forgery, changing the vote of an elector by corrupt means or inducement, tampering with a public record, and presenting a false instrument for filing.  All have pleaded not guilty.

Of the seven states where GOP activists created a substitute slate of Presidential electors and submitted them to the National Archives as genuine, four state attorneys general have brought charges:  Michigan, Nevada, Georgia and Arizona.  Three others, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and New Mexico have either chosen not to bring criminal charges, or cited a lack of grounds for indictment.  Michigan held preliminary hearings in April, where 15 defendants face trial.  Pre-trial motions are being heard in Nevada for six other defendants.

There were developments the week of December 4th in the GOP fake Presidential elector plots in Nevada, Wisconsin and Arizona.  Investigations continue in New Mexico and Georgia, with one of the indicted lawyers in the Georgia case cooperating with prosecutors.

Trump election attorney Kenneth Chezbro pleaded guilty to a felony charge of conspiracy to commit filing false documents in October, and is reportedly meeting with prosecutors in Arizona December 11th.   The Arizona Mirror reports that alleged fake elector participants include the former chair of the Arizona GOP and two state senators. 

On December 6th, a Nevada grand jury announced felony indictments of six alleged fake electors, including the state GOP chair and vice chair, a national GOP committeeman, the chair of the Clark County Republicans, and two others.   

Also December 6th, ten alleged fake electors in Wisconsin agreed in a civil settlement to publicly acknowledge that Joe Biden won the 2020 election.  Among the participants were the former chair of the state GOP, and a member of the state election commission. As part of the deal, a trove of documents was released, suggesting that participants knew what they were doing was wrong. 

Michigan indicted 16 alleged fake electors on document fraud charges in August. Charges for one conspirator were dropped after a cooperation agreement in October.
